Professional Event Submission Guidelines

Contributors are encouraged to consider some guidelines regarding professional event submissions. (Where a "Professional Event," is taken to mean a conference, workshop, symposium, etc.) These guidelines are meant only to provide general criteria for evaluation, and are historically typical of postings. They are in no way meant to discourage contribution.

• Only one submission detailing a call for papers may be posted for each professional event. A "call for papers" in this sense usually refers to an initial announcement, describing the focus of the event, requesting contributions, and enumerating dates and deadline information.
• Only one submission detailing a call for participation may be posted for each professional event. A "call for participation" in this sense usually refers to a supplementary announcement, describing accepted papers and other program details, providing registration instructions, and enumerating further dates and deadline information. Submissions claimed to be "call for participation" and sent after the submission of a "call for papers" but before the deadline for submitting papers to the event, will be returned.
• Submissions that advertise a professional event should include the URL for the event web site, if available. Those interested in the professional event are presumed to be kept aware of updates via this URL.
• Submissions detailing individual calls for papers and participation of conference workshops and doctoral symposia are welcome. Submissions detailing other sub-events (e.g., individual tracks, special sessions) may be posted at the discretion of the moderator.
• Submissions detailing other calls (e.g., workshop proposals, posters, demos) for a professional event will be returned.

  It is strongly recommended that event organizers include these calls in the announcements of the main event.

  Other calls unique to a specific professional event may be posted at the discretion of the moderator.
• Submissions aggregating calls for multiple events will be returned. Submissions detailing calls for federated events may be posted at the discretion of the moderator.
